How is our Sports Premium Funding further suppporting our children?
We have introduced a dinner time club in KS2 so that a different year group have the opportunity to participate in a range of sporting activities. These are listed over the half term so that the children know what is on offer.
We have seen a big increase in numbers of children who attend these clubs and consequently, we have many more children who are activity engaged over the lunchtime period.
On Fridays a group of Year 5 children were trained as sports leaders last year (2015-2016) and were able to go down to the KS1 playground and run a number of sporting activities with the KS1 children. This has increased the number of children participating in sport every week, and the school is hoping to continue this provision for this academic year (2016-2017).
The Bee Active Lessons which were undertaken in FS and KS1 last year have greatly helped the children to develop their physical literacy. They are confident in PE as they enter KS2 and this has become evident to the Year 3 teacher who is also the PE leader across the school. Bee Active continue to work with the school in taking FS, KS1 and Year 3 PE lessons this academic year.
