While exploring the story 'A Walk in the Jungle' we listened to different sounds and instruments to help us predict what animal would appear in the story.
Throughout the week, the children have been making pictures of monkeys by using different techniques, including: cutting, gluing and painting. They especially enjoyed painting their painting their hands to make the monkey's body, legs and arms. We have also explored a range of maths skills, focusing on counting out amounts and stopping at a total. We have had lots of fine motor practice when cutting and punching holes in jungle leaves, making routes for the boy to travel safely through the jungle and using crocodile tweezers to recue jungle animals from the swampy waters. The children have also enjoyed a jungle tea party with some jungle animals in the role play and enjoyed their welly Wednesday where they used counting skills to take careful steps through a jungle course.
