This week Wraparound have focussed on the 'Goldilocks' story, making porridge, and weighing oats. Throughout the week we have discussed "Stranger Danger" and the importance of staying safe whilst highlighting the importance of asking politely for things and not just taking what we would like, like Goldilocks did in the story. We have created letters on behalf of Goldilocks, apologising for the things we felt as a group she did wrong such as; going into the house without asking first, eating their food without asking, and sitting on their chairs and beds too. The children have been developing their knowledge of mathematical language in relation to size, whilst matching colours and quantity of bears in the houses. The children have enjoyed dressing up in bakers outfits and hats in the sensory tuff spot as they followed instructions through the use of number cards to make porridge that was "just right" for all the characters. Lots of wonderful craft has been created such as paintings, drawings, colouring pictures and using craft materials to create the characters from the story. We also made our very own Bear pancakes using bananas, panckaes and raisins.
Next week we will be learning about Little Red Riding Hood and re-capping about a healthy lifestyle.
