During our Jungle Animal themed topic, we have been learning about similarities and differences in animals, such as shape, size and patterns. We have been singing animal themed nursery rhymes, and trying to find the animals in the shredded paper. Language in relation to size, shape and length has been explored and the children have been measuring different sized Giraffes using cubes alongside number lines to support number formation . The children were searching for different length snakes and crocodiles in the green water!
The children have been creating lots of different crafts such as; marble painted tigers, paper plate lions, handprint giraffes and colourful snakes. Wraparound have also enjoyed playing the "tumbling monkeys" game, and catching the butterflies whilst playing with the "Elefun".
Playdough has been used to create jungle animals on safari mats and the children have used tweezers to feed the cheeky monkey banana sweets.
Next weeks topic is based on science experiments, investigations and technology.
