During our nature themed week, Wraparound have been talking about the natural world around us and the seasons, and we were very lucky to be able to explore in the snow. The children have picked leaves from outside and used these to make an "all about my leaf" worksheet, encouraging the use of describing words and pencil control. We used leaf sponges to create autumn trees and explored in the nature themed "tuff spot" with forest animals. Playdough has been used to create hedgehogs and leaves using cutters and rollers. The children discovered a tree train track in the sand tray and made soup in the water tray. We have been ordering number leaves using pegs and a washing line, and created various shapes using natural resurces such as stones and conkers. We have been cutting and sticking animals and natural items to make an autumn tree.
The next two weeks topic will be Christmas!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
