Opposites

This week Wraparound have been learning about "opposites". The children discussed opposite pairs at circle time to develop their knowledge and understanding. Descriptive and pre-positional language was used to help the children with their understanding of what is an "opposite".

We have had the ipads in Wraparound this week for the children to explore following instructions, and identifying which items are the "longest", "shortest", "biggest", "tallest" or "smallest". Playdough has been used to create meals for various sized Bears, as well as filling and emptying containers in the water tray, using measuring tubes and funnels, this required a steady hand and concentration!

The children have been developing their fine motor skills and co-ordination by using scissors to match opposites and lots of wonderful art has been created at our "Creation Station".

We have focussed on different number representations such as numerals, and numicon flash cards, whilst matching quantities 1-5 using gems.

Our topic next week is "Habitats".
