Good afternoon, this week Wraparound have been learning about Pets and Vets. We have completed a pet pictogram at circle time, taking turns to discuss what pets we have at home. The children were encouraged to engage in simple questions and answers such as "How many pets do you have at home?" and "What are your pets names?". This has enabled us to expand on our knowledge and understanding of size, shape and the use of descriptive language such as fluffy, soft, small and big. The children have been catching coloured numbered fish in the water tray using nets and rods, to support number and colour recognition. We have been developing our counting skills, and fine motor skills by touch counting the spots on the dice and then feeding the dog that amount of treats using tweezers. Wraparound have created patterns and shapes using the linking animals in the sand tray. Using playdough, the children have created different animals using cutters and rolling pins, and enjoyed showing them to each other. Lots of drawings of pets have been created on the chalk board, paper, white boards, and the children have even been trimming the cats whiskers using scissors!
Wraparound's topic after half term is: Potions and recipe making.
From all the staff at Wraparound, we hope you have a lovely half term.
