This week Wraparound have been focussing on science experiments, investigating and technology. The children took part in a "germ" experiment, to highlight the importance of hygiene and hand washing. We have been looking at bugs in the tuff spot using magnifying glasses and binoculars. The children have been using their ideas and creativity by creating shadow puppets in the tent using torches. We have been ecouraging the children to think critically whilst sorting items which sink and float, which items are magnetic and which are not, and also exploring the use of mathematical language when weighing different items. Letter formation and finding the the hidden letters and sounds in the shredded paper kept the children busy in the literacy area. We had number bingo in the gloop, and used playdough to create facial features and body parts, whilst discussing our 5 senses and what these are used for. We had a taste testing session and scooped out the seeds of different fruit and vegetables, check out the results and facial expressions on the uploaded pictures!!
Next weeks focus will be "Nature".
