The Queens Jubilee

This week we have been learning about London and celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. At the beginning of the week, Wraparound received a letter from the Queen, asking the children if they could make her a new crown, as she tripped over one of her Corgi dogs and broke her crown! The children created beautiful crowns using various craft materials such as; sticks, paper, sequins, gems and paint. Later in the week the Queen sent the children some treats such as fruit flavoured tarts and scones as a reward for the lovely crowns that the children made throughout the week.

The children have enjoyed exploring in the London themed Peppa Pig tuff spot, whilst discovering influential landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge and many more. We have been working hard with our counting an number recognition skills by matching the amount of passengers to the numeral displayed on the double decker buses, as well as counting and taking turn when playing 'The Wheels on the Bus' game. Wraparound have been busy creating amazing crafts and pictures this week by making crowns, cards, paintings of the Union Jack flag and also using our developed fine motor skills and coordination to create split pin royal guards. From all the staff in Wraparound, we hope you have a lovely half term.
