This week Wraparound have been focussing on the story of "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" which has enabled us to discuss feelings, emotions and behaviours in more depth. Throughout the week, whilst exploring the story, we have been highlighting the importance of our Golden Rules such as kind words and being a nice friend. We have also been able to have lots of fun on the Ipads this week. The children have been using the language of size when exploring and acting out the story in the sensory themed tuff spot. The children have been developing their fine and gross motor skills by using grabbers, tweezers and scoops to feed the troll food, whilst touch counting accurately the spots on the dice. Construction resources have been used to create bridges for the Billy Goats Gruff to safely cross without being eaten by the troll. We also made a giant bridge in our outdoor area using planks, blocks and tyres which was lots of fun when acting out the story. Lots of mark making and crafts have been created this week, such as creating marks in the glitter tray forming letters, sounds and numerals, as well as creating story puppets, colourings, paintings and representations on the easel. Playdough has been used to make some amazing characters from the story, various foods for the troll, and shapes.
Next week the children will be exploring the story of "Jack and the Beanstalk"
