English and History Launch Day—The Great Fire of London

Today we began to find out about the Great Fire of London. First, we watched ‘Magic Grandad’ to find out about key events then we looked at pictures and videos of London to see how it would have differed from today.

Next, we made the Tudor-style houses which were common in 1666. We learned what they were made from and how they were built closely together. We soon realised what a fire risk this all was! We created a fiery London skyline using ideas about the buildings in London during that period of history.

We also learned ‘London’s Burning’ and sung it as a round.
